And Metabo go even beyond that: the Cordless Alliance System (CAS) is a standard agreed between leading power tool manufacturers which ensures that a battery pack also works with tools by different brands and, thus, boosts cost efficiency. At the moment, battery packs by 23 brands are compatible with more than 230 different products.
18V Tools by Leading Brands
First and foremost, it is down to 18V battery packs to make sure that equipment is up for the job whenever and wherever needed. For instance, Fein’s AMM 500 Plus Top Multimaster is an absolute allrounder. When it comes to wood and metal cutting and milling, this multifunction tool is compatible with about 100 accessory products. Delivery includes a variety of sawblades and sanding discs, as well as trowels and rasps. Also very handy: the battery pack features a charge level indicator. Bosch’s cordless GST 18V LIS power jigsaw has a compact cylinder-shaped housing that makes the tool easy to handle even when carrying overhead work. A 23 mm blade travel enables industrial-grade hole cutting and sectioning of solid timber, chip wood and wood composite materials. And Metabo’s SB 18 L is a compact high-performance power drill that comes with a useful hard case containing a large number of accessories centred around drilling and screw fastening.
