Eaton Introduces Power Xpert® CX Motor Control and Power Distribution Center
Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation has launched its new Power Xpert® CX, an International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) low voltage switchgear with a range up to 4000 amperes (A). The system provides reliable motor control and power distribution functionality for industrial and commercial installations. The innovative design, combined with Eaton's expertise in low voltage applications, brings a new, reliable platform that is the heart of any motor control or power distribution system. Power Xpert CX is a compact, ergonomic and flexible system.
The new system incorporates features such as a mechanical test position for secondary circuit testing of the withdrawable unit. This unique, innovative and patented mechanical test position mechanism is designed to allow for the control circuits to be tested with both incoming and outgoing power terminals disconnected. A colored indicator shows the position of the withdrawable unit from a distance, and the Ingress Protection (IP) integrity IP3X is not compromised when the unit is in the test position.
CX is a reliable solution for applications where the supply of energy is important for your business process and the withdrawable units can be exchanged without having to disconnect power and/or control cabling.
CX is verified by testing according to IEC 61439-2 and EN 61439-2 guaranteeing maximum operational and personnel safety.
Eaton is known in the low voltage segment for reliable product families like Capitole,
Tabula, Gemini, xEnergy and Modan. This experience and expertise was used to create the CX, a new generation of motor control centers.
CX offers a state of the art solution with functionality for motor control and distribution in a single low voltage platform. CX is a complete range for motor control and power distribution up to 4000 A.
To provide a fully integrated and tested solution Eaton has used its state of the art switching and distribution products within the CX platform. Eaton's reputation in the industry is built on the legacy of Cutler-Hammer, Westinghouse, Holec, MEM, Moeller and other global electrical product series. CX is currently manufactured in the Netherlands and will be produced in Eaton facilities all across the world.
In combination with Eaton's MV Switchgear, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), busbar trunking, panelboard, distribution boards and project management and service capabilities, CX is part of any complete turn-key solution for all power distribution and control applications.
