Conrad showcases test equipment for predictive maintenance diagnostics

Industrial maintenance teams are shifting from reactive repairs toward predictive maintenance, where electrical verification and fast fault isolation depend on reliable measurement tools. In this context, Conrad Electronic will present new installation testers, current clamps, and multimeters for maintenance and repair applications at the maintenance Dortmund 2026 trade fair, held from February 25th to 26th.

Measurement tools as enablers for predictive maintenance
Unplanned equipment downtime remains a major cost driver in industrial manufacturing, especially when failures cascade into production stoppages. Modern maintenance strategies increasingly rely on sensor data and condition monitoring, but troubleshooting and verification still require hands-on measurement—particularly for electrical safety checks, insulation integrity, and circuit protection testing.

Conrad’s focus at maintenance Dortmund centers on practical test workflows used by maintenance technicians, with live demonstrations of electrical test instrumentation at its booth.

Procurement model for urgent spares and tooling
Even with proactive maintenance plans, unexpected needs such as spare parts, replacement tools, and test equipment can emerge during repairs. Conrad positions its procurement services around rapid access to technical products with high availability and fast shipping, aiming to shorten the time between identifying a fault and restoring operation.

The company highlights two routes for covering demand variability: express delivery for urgent requirements and framework agreements with stable call-off structures for recurring needs—an approach commonly used in plant maintenance to reduce purchasing friction during outages.

Voltcraft IST 3000E targets VDE 0100 installation testing
One of the featured instruments is the Voltcraft IST 3000E installation tester, designed for safety- and function-related measurements in electrical installations in accordance with VDE 0100. The device supports loop and insulation resistance testing, low-resistance measurement, continuity checks, and RCD/FI tests. It can also determine short-circuit currents using network impedance measurement, and includes earth resistance measurement capability.

For documentation and traceability, the IST 3000E can store up to 1,000 measurements and supports report generation with Excel export. The set also includes an active measuring adapter intended for EVSE measurements at wallboxes and charging stations—useful for maintenance teams supporting e-mobility infrastructure in industrial facilities.

VC771 PV clamp meter targets DC microgrids and e-mobility
Conrad is also presenting the Voltcraft VC771 PV current clamp for live testing. The instrument is specified with a CAT III 1500 V protection rating, positioning it for measurements in DC microgrids, PV systems, and e-mobility power environments.

Its measurement range extends up to 1500 A AC for applications such as electric motors and transformers, and up to 2000 A DC for DC systems and supply lines. For measurements on frequency converters, the device includes a low-pass filter mode to improve accuracy under noisy switching conditions. Measurement data can be transmitted to mobile devices in real time to support field diagnostics and reporting.

What visitors can expect at maintenance Dortmund 2026
Conrad plans to present both procurement support for maintenance operations and hands-on demonstration of measurement devices aimed at minimizing downtime. For maintenance teams responsible for electrical reliability, PV integration, and EV charging infrastructure, the showcased instruments target common needs: compliance-driven installation testing, high-voltage DC current measurement, and faster diagnosis during repairs.
