Metso Showcases Sustainable Minerals Processing at Future Minerals Forum 2026

Metso will participate in the Future Minerals Forum 2026 in Riyadh, where it will present how sustainable minerals processing technologies can support the production of energy transition minerals, including copper, green steel, gold and phosphate. The company’s leadership team, including CEO Sami Takaluoma, President of Minerals Piia Karhu, and President of Services Heikki Metsälä, will contribute to panel and roundtable discussions during the event.

“Saudi Vision 2030 positions mining as a cornerstone for economic growth and diversification,” said Kamal Pahuja, President, Market Area Middle East and India at Metso. “Metso’s strategy and technology leadership align strongly with these ambitions, supporting the Kingdom’s transition toward a more resilient and sustainable economy.”

Metso experts will also be available at booth PP03 to discuss the company’s latest innovations in minerals processing technology. A detailed agenda and discussion topics will be published on the event website closer to the forum.

Expanding footprint in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia’s mining sector is expected to see strong growth, driven by rising demand for minerals and sustainable practices. The region holds significant reserves of copper, gold, phosphate, rare earth elements and iron ore, alongside increasing investment interest in mining.

Metso has supported the region through major mining capital projects and Life Cycle Service agreements. Its installed base in the Middle East spans the full flowsheet, including crushing, screening, grinding, dewatering, separation, smelting and pyrometallurgical processing, as well as slurry pumps, spare and wear parts, and expert services.

Over the past five years, Metso’s workforce in Saudi Arabia has grown from 10 employees in 2020 to more than 150 in 2025, reflecting the company’s commitment to local investment and customer proximity.

As a leading minerals processing and services provider, Metso supports customers and partners with a comprehensive end-to-end portfolio of equipment and services for minerals processing and metals refining, helping build a more resilient future.
