The Souriau 8D connector with integrated clinch nut allows easy fitting of aluminum sockets to electronic control boxes. It speeds up Series III connector fitting times, whilst at the same time reducing the number of fixing accessories (bolts, washers etc.) needed. It is particularly suited to boxes with difficult access and requiring maintenance, in an aeronautical or military environment.
Souriau has extended its RoHS Zinc Nickel protection to its latest range of miniature circular connectors, the micro38999 series. This gives the range three key advantages: record compactness on the market of connections for harsh environments (-50% of compactness as compared with size 9), specifications in line with a military standard and an environmentallyfriendly RoHS protection.
SOURIAU’s black Zinc Nickel version enables users of industrial and aeronautical equipment to comply with the latest RoHS directives. It can guarantee the same electrical and physical characteristics as the cadmium solution, particularly in terms of salt spray resistance (500 hours). In addition, an RoHS Zinc Nickel 851 connector can be mated with a cadmium connector without generating a galvanic couple; the same is true of accessories such as adaptors.
To meet the growing demand for small waterproof connectors for on-board railway equipment, SOURIAU has developed a special connector: the SMS IP. Designed to meet railway standards, the SMS IP combines compactness and safety: IP 67 sealing, operating voltage up to 500 V and compliance with the most demanding fire and smoke standards. SMS IP is intended for on-board applications such as lighting, door controls, detectors, air conditioning programmes, the SMS cabs etc..
SOURIAU is pleased to announce that it has been honoured with the 2010 AIRBUS Supplier of the Year Award in recognition of the best global performance during the supplier SQAL Electrics Conference held in Toulouse on December 16, 2010.
Souriau, the worldwide leader of composite connectors for severe environments has obtained the qualification of the European Space Agency (ESA) for its rectangular miniature range: microComp®. The microComp® connector is the perfect replacement for ESA/ESCC D-Sub connector, which is widely used today in satellite payloads. The microComp® allows a space saving up to 40% and a weight reduction down to 60%.
Souriau, the world leader in multi-position circular connectors for harsh operating environments, is launching a new range of miniature connectors developed from the MIL-DTL-38999: micro38999. This new range offers the best possible performance – in the most compact models on the market. The micro38999 allows size and weight savings of 50% compared to the smallest MIL-DTL38999 Series III units.
Protokraft has introduced the Sabre Series 11-02 high speed optoelectronic solutions with Souriau’s ELIO® optical interfaces, designed for military, aerospace, industrial or utility applications where significant levels of shock, vibration and extreme temperature ranges are experienced. These components integrate the functions of optical transmitters or receivers into the shell of a standard D38999 / ELIO® size 11-02 optical connector. These components are designed for use in harsh environments where small size, weight reduction and resistance to harsh environments are valued.
