This new combination of power and signal being offered within one high density connector solution minimizes added componentry inventory, reduces system complexity and the subsequent consumption of valuable space and installation costs.

Last year, Souriau manufactured more than 50% of its 38999 connectors with a RoHS plating, further reinforcing the company’s position as industry green leader in the connector market. The company has more than a decade of experience with RoHS Zinc Nickel plating, which is now considered a superior RoHS-compliant alternative to cadmium by the MilAero industry. Souriau has now industrialized this plating for most of the company’s MilAero connector lines, which includes the D38999, Series I, II and III, MIL-C-26482 Series I, VG96918, micro38999, caps and backshell.

As part of its commitment to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction, Souriau develops solutions to reduce the cost of its connectors without sacrificing their high performance. One example is its new Cost-Effective ARINC 600 connector with harpooned contacts. Like its predecessor, this connector conforms to the ARINC 600 standard but costs as much as 25% less.

An alternative to the D-subminiature connector, the new microComp^® Quicklatch is a 100% composite miniature quick connector designed particularly for use on in-flight entertainment (IFE) screens aboard commercial aircraft. It is 32% smaller and 45% lighter than a D-sub and can save as much as the equivalent of the weight of one passenger on modern civil aircraft. Released just six months ago, the microComp^® Quicklatch is already being used on Airbus A350, A380 and A330 aircraft and Boeing B747, B787 and B777 aircraft. Production of the connector is expected to double each year.

UTS threaded receptacles are the latest addition to Souriau’s UTS connector series. They are designed particularly for industrial applications, such as junction boxes and even variable speed drives on induction motors, and fit in place of conventional cable glands.

Souriau’s UTL is a power connector intended for outdoor applications such as architectural and urban lighting, portable power tools and telecom relays. It conforms to the latest UL and IEC standards, and can handle currents up to 16 A and voltages up to 600 V.
