Fischer Elektronik presents New cases for embedded PCs with THFU contour

Embedded PCs are increasingly being used in many technical areas of electronics, such as telecommunications, medical technology, automotive, rail vehicle and shipbuilding, control and regulation technology, and general mechanical engineering. Unlike conventional computers, these PCs cool the CPU and other system components without fans. The heat being generated during operation is dissipated to the environment via specially developed cases. Modern design, an optimal heat dissipation concept and numerous practical and functional features are the key characteristics of the new embedded case EMB FR 180, which Fischer Elektronik is offering to its customers as of now.

The single-sided open, U-shaped aluminium case profiles have integrated external cooling fins for better heat dissipation, internal guide channels for sliding square nuts or threaded strips for fastening the mainboard using variable-length distance bolts and lateral guide grooves for accommodating standard and non-standard circuit boards or mounting plates. For applications in which power transistors such as TO220, TO247 or similar, the new case profile has internal side contours that allow various types of transistor cases to be easily, quickly and reliably fastened using universal snap-in transistor retaining springs THFU 2, THFU 3, THFU 4 and THFU 6 made of stainless steel. A 2 mm thick bottom plate and front cover panels adapted to the profile contour round off the robust and resistant case design. Designs with a special clip fastening for mounting on DIN EN 50022 mounting rails or with slide-in mounting brackets for wall and ceiling mounting are also optionally available as standard items. In addition to the five standard colours (turquoise blue, erica violet, ultramarine blue, fire red and daffodil yellow), the plastic design strips (UL94-V0) integrated into the case profiles can be produced in many other RAL colours to match your corporate design.
