Danfoss unveils new water lab for tailored nozzle testing

Danfoss has officially launched a state-of-the-art water test lab at its Nordborg production site, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and customer-centric solutions. This new facility is designed to simulate real-world operating conditions, enabling precise and repeatable testing of water nozzle configurations for applications such as humidification, dust suppression, and adiabatic cooling.

Since opening in late April 2025, the lab has already supported successful tests for four customers, with additional testing requests already lined up. The facility provides customers with the opportunity to validate nozzle performance under exact specifications—delivering quantitative data on spray angles, droplet consistency, anti-drip behavior, and pressure handling. This empowers customers to make informed decisions based on real-world performance metrics.

The lab’s development was a result of close cross-functional collaboration. Jørgensen and Product Engineer Satish Ligade led the technical setup, supported by a dedicated team that ensured the lab was operational with precision and purpose. Beyond supporting current customer needs, the lab also plays a strategic role in accelerating product development, improving internal knowledge sharing, and identifying optimization opportunities early in the design process. It stands as a testament to how even relatively modest infrastructure investments can deliver significant value—especially in performance-critical industries where technical precision is key.
