Technical Control and Structural Parameters
Liebherr supplied the three-axle, 55-tonne capacity mobile crane featuring the LICCON3 digital control architecture, which governs onboard monitoring and precise load distribution. The mechanical configuration incorporates an approximate 40-meter telescopic boom designed to lift payloads over elevated obstacles without requiring oversized spatial footprints. Structurally, the carrier integrates multiple driving modes engineered to adapt axle loads, allowing operations with or without road configuration permits under Section 29 transport guidelines.
Fleet Integration and Service Deployment
Ordered during the Bauma trade fair in Munich, Germany, the crane entered operational service at the end of May. Regional proximity between the operating hub in Biberach and the manufacturing facility in Ehingen (Donau) supported initial commissioning, integration into ESB's eleven-unit mobile crane fleet, and technical service support. The machine directly replaces an older unit to raise process stability during heavy handling.
Application Scenarios and Capacity Extension
The system operates across a 40-kilometer radius around Biberach, focusing on urban building assembly, infrastructure installation, and industrial maintenance. The maneuverability of the three-axle chassis enables efficient positioning on uneven terrain and narrow passages. To further support heavier assembly work, ESB planned a subsequent capacity replacement of an existing 130-tonne unit with a 150-tonne crane during the second half of 2026.

Alongside the fleet expansion, the company restructured its operational management. Founder Karl Engeser Sr. transitioned day-to-day oversight to Managing Director Karl Engeser Jr. and Larissa Maurer, who joined the management board on 1 January 2026.
