Yokogawa Electric Corporation has released the OpreX Pressure Transmitter EJX S Series as the successor to its EJX A lineup of field instruments. Based on silicon resonant sensor technology refined over more than 30 years, the new series delivers improved measurement accuracy, long-term stability and durability for process industries including oil and gas, chemicals, power generation and water treatment.
Measurement Performance and Operational Reliability
The EJX S Series is designed for measurement of pressure, flow and liquid level in liquids, gases and steam across tanks and pipelines. Leveraging Yokogawa’s silicon resonant sensing principle, the transmitters achieve:
- Accuracy of ±0.025% (optional specification code /HAC)
- Long-term stability of ±0.1% over 20 years
- Rangeability up to 400:1
- Support for HART and PROFINET communication protocols
The extended stability specification reduces recalibration frequency over long operating cycles, which is particularly relevant in continuous-process plants. A rangeability of up to 400:1 allows a single transmitter to cover wide measurement spans, reducing device variants in inventory.
The transmitters carry an IP68 rating for dustproof and waterproof protection and meet SIL2 functional safety requirements. Enhanced noise immunity supports stable signal transmission in electrically demanding industrial environments.
A new color backlit graphic display improves visibility of process variables and device status information. The display supports NAMUR NE107-compliant diagnostics, enabling standardized alert categorization and faster on-site troubleshooting.

Standardized Specifications and Reduced Maintenance Complexity
To reduce configuration complexity, the EJX S Series includes compliance with multiple explosion-proof standards, dual power connection support and advanced diagnostics as standard features. This approach reduces dependence on special suffix codes and simplifies procurement.
A modular internal design enables easier component replacement and service access. Standardization combined with modularity can lower spare parts requirements and reduce maintenance labor time, particularly in large distributed control system (DCS) installations.
Environmental Design Considerations
The EJX S Series was developed under Yokogawa’s Trusted Green sustainability principles, with a focus on lifecycle environmental impact. The company states that CO₂ emissions during production have been significantly reduced, contributing to lower Scope 3 emissions for end users.
