Jungheinrich has expanded its electric counterbalance truck range with a new generation of models covering compact indoor handling and heavy-duty outdoor operations. The portfolio includes the experimental high-voltage FalcOn platform and redesigned EFG 2/2i, 3/3i and EFG 5 series, combining higher performance, energy efficiency and enhanced operator ergonomics for emission-free material handling.

FalcOn: High-Voltage Platform for Heavy-Duty Applications
FalcOn is based on the EFG Series 5 architecture and serves as a high-voltage demonstrator for demanding industrial use cases. Designed for a 5,000 kg load capacity at a 600 mm load centre, it addresses heavy-duty applications such as beverage logistics, construction materials handling and automotive supply chains.

Performance data include a maximum speed of 26 km/h, acceleration to 15 m in approximately 4.6 seconds under load, and a lift speed of 0.6 m/s. A CCS-2 fast-charging system enables charging from 20 % to 80 % state of charge in roughly 30 minutes, supporting multi-shift operation.

The water-cooled high-voltage drivetrain maintains stable power output under continuous heavy loads and elevated ambient temperatures. Individually controlled wheel motors provide precise manoeuvrability. The platform demonstrates the feasibility of replacing combustion forklifts in intensive outdoor and incline-based operations.

EFG 5: Electric Alternative in the 5-Tonne Segment
The EFG 5 series offers load capacities up to 5 tonnes and lift heights up to 7,500 mm. A redesigned drive and hydraulic system increases handling performance by up to 15 % compared to previous configurations. Dual high-torque drive motors support travel speeds up to 20 km/h.

An SRM+ lift motor combined with 33 % higher hydraulic oil flow improves lifting and lowering speeds and enhances attachment control. Two operating profiles are available: efficiencyPLUS for optimized energy consumption and drive&liftPLUS for higher dynamic performance.

Ergonomic updates include increased foot space, optimized pedal layout, air-suspension seating and reduced vibration and noise levels. Slimmer mast pillars improve forward visibility. Assistance systems such as curveCONTROL, driveCONTROL, liftCONTROL and zoneCONTROL enhance operational safety. An optional AI-supported addedVIEW camera system detects obstacles and automatically reduces speed in complex environments.

EFG 2/2i and 3/3i: Compact High-Productivity Trucks
The redesigned EFG 2/2i (three-wheel, 1.4–2.0 t) and EFG 3/3i (four-wheel, 1.6–2.0 t) models target warehouse environments requiring compact dimensions and high manoeuvrability.

Integrated lithium-ion batteries and optimized steering geometry reduce space requirements by up to 15 % and shrink the turning circle by up to 300 mm, enabling operation in narrow aisles. Three performance packages—efficiencyPLUS, drive&liftPLUS and performancePLUS—support applications from moderate to high-intensity handling.

Energy options include lithium-ion, lead-acid and fuel cell preparation. Noise levels are reduced to approximately 63 dB(A), while ergonomic improvements include increased legroom, lower step height and optimized control layout.

Safety features include improved visibility, a redesigned B-pillar reducing reversing blind spots by up to 65 %, integrated assistance systems and optional AI-based person detection. Connectivity functions provide real-time data access, enabling predictive maintenance and reduced downtime.

Electrification Across Application Segments
With the introduction of high-voltage heavy-duty capability and compact warehouse-focused models, Jungheinrich extends electrification across a broader range of load classes and operating conditions. The portfolio addresses both performance-intensive outdoor operations and space-constrained indoor logistics while maintaining zero local emissions and enhanced digital integration.
