Kontron launches VX307C 3U VPX Module

Kontron has announces the release of the Kontron VX307C, a rugged 3U VPX computing module based on the Intel® Xeon® D-1700/1800 platform, purpose-designed for I/O-intensive mission critical workloads.

Featuring PCIe Gen4 and 100Gb Ethernet, the Kontron VX307C embedded server node delivers exceptional bandwidth optimized for data-intensive mission applications in defense, aerospace, telecommunications and industrial environments.

Combining server-class computing capability with rugged reliability, the VX307C enables real-time data fusion, secure communications and mission-critical responsiveness. Specialized instructions for Artificial Intelligence (VNNI), Signal Processing (AVX512) and crypto algorithms enable Computer Vision, Media Processing and Crypto applications to achieve twice the performance of the previous generation of micro server SOCs.

SOSA-aligned, the VX307C is well suited to applications where a minimum number of boards and maximum interoperability are pre-requisites for integrators, meeting unprecedented demand for compute and I/O performance while ensuring reduced costs and development time.

Christophe Ferrance, Product Manager, Kontron, said “Our rugged VX307C 3U VPX server takes the highly popular SOSA™ HPEC architecture to the next level, featuring more powerful long-term available multi-core processors, super-fast I/O capabilities, rich connectivity and extended operating temperatures in the -40°C to +85°C operating temperature range.”

The VITA 47/48 compliant Kontron VX307C is available immediately, offering a choice of 8- or 10-core versions with air- and conduction-cooling variants.
