Maplesoft expands scope of automotive models with tire components

Maplesoft™ today announced an add-on component library for its physical modeling and simulation product MapleSim™. The MapleSim Tire Component Library lets engineers extend their multi-domain MapleSim vehicle models with high-performance pneumatic tire components.

16 km of SilentTrackTM are used to reduce noise on a new commuter route in SYDNEY suburbs

Almost 50 000 SilentTrack dampers have been used on the Epping to Chatswood Rail Line, in the suburbs of Sydney. SilentTrackTM is a dynamic damper developed by Tata Steel which significantly reduces the noise generated by railway traffic. A world exclusive, SilentTrackTM is capable of reducing noise generated by the track itself by an average of 4 to 6 dB(A), depending on the form of the track.

Maplesoft is used to model a motorcycle battery

Dereck Wright, Application Engineer at Maplesoft, has developed for a motorcycle manufacturer, a new model of battery with Maplesim. Engineers are thus able to analyse battery charge and discharge according to the way the driver uses various components of the powertrain as the starter motor, the alternator and the engine.
